Dovecot Cotehele III

The third and largest in this series of the Dovecot. Again painted in the Rayist style.In this one, attempt was made to evoke a jewell like atmosphere amongst its lines and colour harmonies.Available as a Limited Edition Giclee Print.

Dovecot IV

Although painted with the same colour harmonies as the previous one, it differs in its approach and construction.The paint was applied in a thicker impasto style, giving it a chunkier feel.

Paletted and flicked with gusto with dollopings of atmosphere.

Life Hey!

Painted at a time when two friends were leaving this life due to cancer.The coloured quartz-like stones on the foreground graves represent the stop, start, go nature of things. The mug of tea speaks of time out to reflect.The view is based on the one over Albaston Graveyard (Cornwall).

Miners Dry

Another example of the mine chimneys that dot the south east Cornwall landscape. This one exists between Albaston and Calstock and has since been renovated.

The Last Lapwings

When I was young, every open field area seemed to resound with the haunting peewit call of the Lapwings.Nowadays a sighting is one for the diary.

Viva's Paddock

This enclosure lay atop the hillside of Hingston Down, Cornwall. It was my view East for 10 years, and Viva was my delightful landlady.

Wiggle Cliff

Started in 1989, and based on a view looking up Wiggle Cliff, Whitsnad Bay, Cornwall. The reeds, I believe, are dried Willow Herb stems. Painting their entanglements hurt my brain.
